Currently, our female breeder, Grace, is a CFA CPC* black Persian, and our future breeding female is a CFA Seal Point Himalayan-Persian. Our breeding male is a Silver Tabby Exotic Longhair at this time. As a result of our male being an Exotic, all kittens he produces will be registered as Exotics even though the Dam is a Persian. This can get kind of confusing but all kittens will be CFA registered as Exotics which are a recognized and respected breed. Persians are a CFA allowable outcross with the Exotic. This is because Persians were used in the creation of this breed.

*CPC means color-point carrier. This means that Grace, although she is a solid color,  is capable of producing Himalayan/color-point kittens, as the color-point gene runs in her.

We generally try to breed for the more doll faced kittens as to lean away from the common eye tearing and respiratory issues with these breeds. We are capable of producing blue, seal, chocolate, lilac, and lynx Himalayans. Silver, blue, and brown Tabbies or a combination of these colors. Black, cream, and blue solids.                                   Persians 101

The Persian breed is the most popular among the felines. Their is nothing more beautiful than a long haired beauty draped across your couch. Although they are the most lazy cat, they do enjoy some playtime now and then. Of course, Persians are mainly for decorating :-) Persians have a very high maintenace coat needing grooming weekly, but sometimes even more frequently than that. A Persian owner must make time for maintance of this treasure. Persians usually require a monthly bath as well. Let's face it, they would rather beauify the enviroment or sleep than bathe themselves. Do to their grooming needs, a Persian is strictly an indoor pet. To allow such a delicate coated feline outside could be disasterous.

Once a Persian is comfortable in its new home, it will become a most loyal companion. A Persian is unlike your domestic cat, and realizing this can only come from owning one of these gems. Persians are very trusting and caring. They get very attatched to their owners and some have even been known to get depressed if their owner is away for extended periods of time. They are known to be good with children, as not much bothers them, although we have found our Persian to be less child oriented than our Himalayan or Exotic. Persians are generally very dog friendly and can come to own their very own canine. Persians come in many colors including the popular Himalayan division. Read about these pearls below...

Many people believe that a Himalayan is a breed of cat. This is not so. A Himalayan is a color class in the Persian breed. A Himalayan is a Persian. In other countries the Himalayan is known as a color-point Persian. Some breeders in the U.S. also use this terminology. All a Himalayan is is a Persian with different colored extremidies than the body. Whatever color those extremidies are distinguishes it's color-point name. (I.E. If you have a Persian with a white body and nestle brown ears, tail, and legs..it's a chocolate point. Blue extremidies would be a blue-point. Red extremidies are flame point. Very dark brown extremidies are a seal point...And so on.) See CFA's Himalayan division of the Persian breed profile.

~Our female, Nadira, is a seal-point Himalayan.

The Himalayan is not overactive, but more playful than a standard Persian. This is probably a result of their siamese ancestor gene:-) Himalayans are definately a people cat. One will gladly plop on your keyboard as you are typing in order to assist you in paying attention to THEM!! Himalayans are also much easier to groom, as their coats are less matting and more manageable than others.

So what is an Exotic anyway? Not many people have heard of this feline and think of tigers when it's mentioned... An Exotic is a breed of cat that in the beginning, resulted from combining the Persian with an American Shorthair . This was done to create a Persian with shorthair, ridding the need to groom at all. Because Persians have longhair, longhair Exotics still resulted in breeding. What has become of this breeding has fascinated many Persian enthusiasts. A breed was born that looks and acts much like a Persian but gets bigger in size and muscle tone. The exotic longhair is a very attractive and hefty feline.

(Some cat registries other than CFA consider the Exotic Longhair and the Persian to be the same- a Persian.)

Most Exotics are bred for short hair, but the longhair Exotic has some advantages for us who like the long beautiful hair but are not so into grooming everyday. Here at Gods Kitty, we believe in keeping the long, beautiful flowing coat. So, we use an Exotic Longhair male, because it provides the beauty of a traditional Persian with more coat manageability than a Persian. You get the best of both worlds! Beauty and less matting. Our female Persian has to be groomed almost every other day, while our Exotic Longhair only needs grooming once every week or more.

The Exotic has some attractive characteristics as well. Exotics are known to be much like a traditional Persian in being loyal, gentle, soft spoken, trusting, and beautiful, but also adding silliness, a little mischief and quite a bit of affection.

Exotics are known to be excellent with children. Our male Exotic is owned by our 6 year old daughter who likes to play "baby" with him. He even allows her to tuck him in for an afternoon nap!  He's happy to be lugged around wherever she pleases. He is also constantly keeping us entertained with his human hair binder addiction! Exotics are known to hide their treasures and try profusely to entertain their owner.

The silver Exotics are our favorite and quite stunning. When company comes, we are overwhelmed with compliments on our male silver tabby , our stud. Everyone says they have never in their life seen such a beautiful, eye catching, and striking feline. They are truely one of a kind to be treasured and admired.

Exotics are built much like a traditional Persian with added stockiness. They have a solid, muscular and majestic stance. Often having large paws and a shorter tail, but still in proportion to their body.

They are truely amazing and growing in popularity. We are very pleased to offer this breed in our area.

Exotics are a CFA recognized breed.

If this sounds like what you are looking for, then you've come to the right place!
